It may well be cheaper if the medication is bought in Europe as the pricing is in Euros , which is lower than Sterling
Yes, most definitely most reputable travel companies are all advising passengers to keep their medication in their hand luggage along with the correct prescription paperwork to be disclosed or shared at customs if asked ,they do not want you to take the risk of having your medication confiscated as an unlawful import of drugs Please bear in mind when you are carrying drugs in your luggage you must have the correct paperwork and the drugs themselves must not be prohibited in the country you intend to visit
Certain drugs in certain countries are absolutely banned … for example if you have something simple like Co-Codamol in your possession when you arrive at Dubai that is an arrestable offence because Co-Codamol contains an opioid based chemical which is completely illegal in the Middle East

If a UK doctor has confirmed your eligibility and has already provided you with a prescription then our EU doctors will repeat that prescription for you in a format which is acceptable by any pharmacy in the EU .
You as the patient can select the language of your destination or leave it in English There are 27 countries in Europe where it is valid and once you pass the medical questionnaire the prescription is emailed to you immediately and you can carry it on your phone ,in what is called an electronic prescription, which will be printed out by the pharmacy that you choose, or you can print it out yourself to take with.
